Balance

The heart of a watch is the balance and hairspring is the heart of a watch, and so proper service is paramount. To date, I have learned how to remove the hairspring and safely roller without damaging any, how to remove a broken balance staff without damaging the balance wheel, how to rivet the balance wheel onto a staff, and how to statically poise the balance, cutting small holes in the underside of the wheel until it is perfectly balanced around the axel.
