My Watch Design

Circles within circles. A two-tier bridge design based on the ETA 7001 may be a little ambitious for my first attempt making my own watch, but what is life without a little spark of madness?

To date, I have completed machining - by hand - all parts needed for the movement. This are the main plate, all bridges, an extended barrel arbor, and a custom crown wheel. Assembled and working, the movement can be wound and set via the winding stem and runs under its own power. There remains a degree of tuning for the gear train as to get the amplitude (the degrees that the balance wheel swings with each oscillation) a bit higher, but it works, and that makes me very proud.

What remains now is the finish, and I have some interesting ideas for that....
